Jazz Currents - Michelle Obama invites jazz to the White House
On June 15th 2009, First Lady Michelle Obama recently invited the Marsalis family along with members of the the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra to the White House for a day of jazz performance and workshops. Is it important that we have a cultural arts ambassador for our nation as music icon Quincy Jones is advocating for?

I think its very important to lobby for a more prominent cultural arts ambassador; especially in these troubled times when the President is trying re-brand the U.S. in a postive way arounf the world. Jazz: the ultimate world music would and should be a key cultural component in that artistic mission
